Urban Forest Project

Overview: A unique public arts initiative, which invited local artists and designers to employ the idea or form of the tree to make a powerful visual statement on street-banners that were then displayed in their community and then transformed into tote bags.

Role: Project & Event Coordinator

The Urban Forest Project

A project of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists), The Urban Forest Project was a series of outdoor exhibitions taking root in cities around the world. This unique environmental, public art, and educational initiative called on artists, designers, and students in each location to employ the idea or form of the tree to make a powerful visual statement on banners that were displayed throughout the community.

At the close of each exhibition, banners were recycled into tote bags and auctioned off to raise money for local environmental and urban forestry initiatives.
